Alaska

What can we say - Alaska is simply somewhere anyone with an interest in nature, wildlife or the outdoors must go at some time - even better several times - in their life. Although part of the US, exploring Alaska is like exploring another country. Where else are there small planes parked behind your hotel, rather than cars? Where else can you look in one direction to see whales, and in the other to see wild sheep a few yards away. From a main road. A place where you can take your choice - a walk in a rainforest, listen to a glacier calving, catch a salmon for dinner, canoe a still lake miles from anywhere, or watch grizzly bears in a pristine field. Then choose from a completely different suite of activities a couple of days later.

Whatever your interest, Alaska can accommodate you. OK, there's no surfing.

We've nearly finished finalizing some tours in association with Alsaska's most experienced (and in our opinion best) wildlife & birding guide, so either come back soon or call now for more details.

NEWSBREAK

Our man won!

In case you haven't heard, Lance Mackey won the Idatrod for the second successive year. Congratulations Lance. So they privileged guests on our 2008 Iditarod & Northern Lights tour have all been able to stand casually around the water cooler, or their local sports bar, and when the Iditarod winner is mentioned can say "I know Lance - had breakfast with him recently as a matter of fact." Not a bad souvenir of a spectacular trip.

The good news is that the tour is being repeated for 2009, and even better, it's a bit cheaper. Start date for 2009 is March 4, and the tour price is $3099+119 tax pp double occupance. Click on the Iditarod link above for full details.
