Day 22 – Wednesday, July 7 – Cairns / Tully River / Cairns
This morning you are picked up about 7am by Raft & Rainforest to travel south to the Tully River for a five hour rafting trip on the Class III/IV Tully River. Lunch is provided, as well as dinner snacks on the way home. Don’t forget that cotton shirts are not recommended as they make you cold.

Day 23 – Thursday, July 8 – Cairns / Sydney
Most of the day is free until you fly south to Sydney this evening on Qantas QF 927 at 5.10pm, arriving at 8.10pm. Take a taxi or airport shuttle to your hotel in the historic Rocks area of Sydney, within walking district of pretty much everything. (shuttle is $AUD13 pp roundtrip, $AUD8 one way, taxi about $AUD25 each way. You can leave later if you take a taxi on the return, and no need to wait or visit other hotels on the way in.)

Day 24 - Friday, July 9 - Sydney
Enjoy a walking tour of The Rocks, Sydney’s oldest and most historic area, but now also home to many small shops and interesting restaurants and pubs. The rest of day free to discover Sydney. The Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Circular Quay, restaurants and downtown proper are all close by. Breakfast is included in your hotel stay.

Day 25 – Saturday, July 10 – Sydney
Free day. Don’t forget to arrange your shuttle or taxi to the airport this evening for tomorrow. A good place to buy opals is the National Opal Collection, in downtown Sydney, which has an adjunct of the Australian Museum at its store. The museum has excellent displays of opals, opalized fossils, and much other good information. Don't forget to take your discount brochure.

Day 26 – Sunday, July 11 – Sydney / Los Angeles / Birmingham
Sadly, your last day in Australia. This morning shuttle or taxi to the airport for your 10.50am Qantas QF107 flight to Los Angeles. Due to the International Dateline, you arrive in Los Angeles at 7.10am today, in good time for your flight to Birmingham, Delta DL1220/870 at 9.12am via Atlanta, arriving at 5.29pm.
