Guiding
Our carefully selected guides are trained and knowledgeable
in all aspects of Torres del Paine National Park, including history,
geology, wildlife and botany. All are at least bilingual, and so can
share with your their knowledge, love and enthusiasm for this majestic
and beautiful area. Each group is in the company of a guide dedicated
exclusivley to it. Over the days your guide you will become more like
a companion, just one of the group, but one experienced in and knowledgeable
of the area. We believe a guide is the key to living extraordinary
moments while learning about the essence of the region at your own
pace and interest level.
Group
size
Groups are limited to just six guests, and will depart
with just one guest. The small size enables a quiet and intimate connection
with Torres del Paine, one of the world's most impressive natural
spectacles. Following paths exclusively designed for our guests, nature
free of man’s modern influences is the backdrop to intensely
personal experiences. Our small groups also permit a closer connection
with your guide, and hence a greater understanding of this land and
her people. Families and other parties have the option to nominate
their departure to be exclusively theirs.
Accommodation
& Dining
Accommodation is primarily at Hosteria las Torres,
a private hotel in Torres del Paine National Park. The hotel has all
the facilities you would expect, and some more
surprising
in this remote location. The restaurant is well known for its refined
presentation and fresh ingredients, grown here on the hotel grounds.
On Puma's Expanse, sophisticated camping is necessary for two nights.
This is also a superb experience, with everything presented to you,
and done for you, to make your stay in the Patagonia
wilderness a special event, and a culinary delight. As you have your
own cook at this camp, you may suggest the menu for each dinner. A
feature of many guests' stay at Hosteria las Torres is the discovery
of the variety and quality of Chilean wines; the hotel's cellar is
well stocked with labels never seen in the US. A selection of quality
Chilean wines is included with Unseen
Patagonia meals, including those taken in the field.
Hotel
Services
After your excursions you will be able to enjoy several
indoor activities,
including
spa treatments such as massages, mud therapy, saunas, and herbal baths.
Spa Las Torres features natural ingredients found in the Chilean wilderness.
In the mornings you may decide to treat yourself to breakfast in bed,
and evenings are a time to enjoy drinks by the fireplace. This delicious
combination of comfort and discovery will make your vacation an unforgettable
trip.
Weather
The weather in Torres del Paine varies tremendously.
Other than winter, temperatures fluctuate between 39°F (4°C)
and 73°F (23°C). It can naturally be cooler at higher elevations
of the mountains. Perfect calm can be followed by gusts of wind that
reach amazing speeds. In spring and in autumn, the seasons of Unseen
Patagonia, weather is more stable and there are optimum
light conditions for those who enjoy photography.
