Deep in the heart of the Northern Territory, Newhaven was a vast cattle station purchased by donation by members of Birds Australia. It is now owned and managed by Australian Wildlife Conservancy. These 2,626 square kilometres of natural habitat have never been overgrazed by stock and much of the natural vegetation remains. The reserve has a number of different habitats ranging from salt-lakes and claypans, sand dunes to rocky ridges With the 4WD vehicles, we will be able to travel along the sandy tracks to explore and birdwatch in many areas of the reserve.
